The Word of God, with reference to Matthew 26: 26-28, warns of the covenant offered to us by Christ and shows that in no way can we remain prey to the old. When the Lord said it was the bread that had come down from heaven and we would have to eat from His body, many were scandalized that He wanted to give them of their flesh. In fact, he said that from then on, it would be the body of a new church that could gather the lost sheep, regardless of the denominations to which they belonged.
Faced with the worsening spiritual situation every day, it is high time for those who serve the Eternal to awaken to a new reality: that the world is in a fast race to doomsday. If we continue to cling to the old things, works, and obligations of the law, we will not have the strength to endure the day of the Lord, who comes as the thief. It is certain that in the end times, the Spirit of the Eternal will stand before his witnesses to give them strength. But first, the hearts must be dilated, so that the regenerating work may take place. If not, how will we weather storms without proper clothing? How will we endure the affront of the wicked and transgressors? Will we go hungry? Why deprivation? Yes, there are obvious signs that the times will be laborious and disturbing.
Paul says we are the letter of Christ, written not with inks, but with the Spirit of the living God. No more on the stone tablets, as in the Old Covenant, but on the flesh tablets of our hearts, a New Covenant. We are the abode of the Spirit and our life needs to be devoted to the God of Israel and his purposes. We will not fail to live the existential experience, but let us prioritize the Gospel. Christ must be proclaimed as the arm of God extended to Gentiles and Jews, as the only way of salvation, relief, and victory in the face of the torments that will befall mankind. God has made us capable of ministering, teaching and exhorting, we are ministers of a new spirit; of freedom, not of slavery; of a will, not of letters, but of Spirit.
We can feel the call of the Eternal inviting all believers to participate in a new “breath.” Not to found a new denomination, but to enter together into the invisible church of the Son of God; who has conquered death lives and will return shortly to end the empire of lies. In the words of the prophet Malachi, it will come as a sun of righteousness, burning old, weather-eaten trees. Goats and sheep will be separated, no doubt. It really is a new time that begins. Where there was sadness, joy will be made. Near death there is now true life. When in doubt, understanding was made. In the darkness, it is already beginning to lighten.
Jesus told Nicodemus that he had to be born again. Confused, the master of Israel, asked him how could a man be born when he was old? Would she go into her mother’s womb again? The Lord said: Whoever is not born of water and the Spirit will not be able to enter the Kingdom or see it. He did more: He separated things from the flesh from those that belong to the spirit, saying that it, the flesh, would belong to the world. The spirit is God’s property. What is born of flesh is flesh, he said. And what is born of the Spirit, is spirit. May the Spirit make us born again, full of joy, wisdom and grace. New believers, members of an invisible church, of a new testament, free from the footsteps of the law. Obedient we are, but not out of embarrassment. Subject to the graciousness of Christ, the Son of God who died on the cross, that we might be released from Him. Let it be so.
“And when they ate, Jesus took the bread, and blessed it, broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat, this is my body. And taking the cup and giving thanks, he gave it, saying, Drink from it all; For this is my blood. the blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. ”- (Matthew 26: 26-28).
