The Holy Scriptures

Set of the Holy Books, consisting of the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures, which tells the story of the creation of the universe, of the earthly world, of nature, of man, the beginnings of civilization, and the future of humanity. The Scriptures were primarily directed to the material and spiritual instruction of the Chosen People (Jews and Christians), but in future time it will be the foundation of global life. Jews and Christians are witnesses of the Eternal God before the world. The People of God should study the books of the Holy Scriptures to reflect on their own history and the instructions given to each generation to shape their character and moral life.

One must consider the progressiveness of the revelation of the Eternal God to his children, so not all instructions of a given period are absolutely valid for a later time. The doctrine taught by Jesus, the son of Joseph, perfects the covenant previously established with Moses. However, this does not invalidate the divine instructions contained in the Hebrew Scriptures, nor the salvation that has always been available to Jews and Gentiles, including Christians.

The Scriptures are the source of revelation of the Eternal Mysteries, the science of God, and contain moral and spiritual guidance for the Chosen People. The profitable interpretation of the sacred texts depends on the earnest action of the Eternal One, who acts in the mind and heart of the interpreter, without whom the divine purposes cannot be understood. Despite frequent misconceptions found in the Hebrew and Greek translations into the Portuguese language, one can usually clearly understand the central core of the Eternal God ‘s purposes in view of the guidance of His People. The desire of the Most High is for all men to know the truth and possession of eternity, considering the future of planetary civilization. The Lord God does not desire to condemn any of His children to Eternal sufferings, but for sinners to repent, save themselves, and live true happiness by building the future.
